Mandated by the DCPBK bylaws and constitution, the Annual Business Meeting began with the tradition of gathering our members each year to discuss association business. Today, it is our main administrative event, taking place each year in late June or early July, where the results of the May election are announced in front of our members, and the newly elected executive committee is introduced in person. Any pertinent matters requiring a vote of the general membership are brought to the meeting, and board members are asked to deliver brief status reports on their activities both last year and for the coming year. In order to officially commence their term of service, board members take a pledge through which they are installed for the coming year. Traditionally, the meeting takes place during lunchtime so members can break bread together, and the administrative portion is followed by a guest speaker and mingling. The dress code is business casual, and capacity can reach up to 100 attendees. Previous speakers have included Edo Banach, Christine Kelleher, and most recently, Ian Kallenbach of Dream Machine.
