Niku Neshati

Niku Neshati is the immediate Past President of the Board for the DC Area Phi Beta Kappa Association, having served from January 2024-February 2025. Prior to becoming president, she served on the DCPBK Executive Committee as the Membership & Outreach Coordinator (2022-2023), and has been a general member since 2017. During her term as president, Niku revamped board member materials, documented crucial institutional knowledge for future boards, updated the website, launched the French language practice group, represented DCPBK at the 47th Triennial Council Meeting, recovered 50+ lapsed memberships, renewed DCPBK’s social media presence, forged new relationships with chapters and associations nationwide, and onboarded more than 8 new board members. 

As the immediate past president, Niku works closely as an advisor to the current president, other officers, and members of the Executive Committee to ensure a seamless presidential transition and maintain continuity in operations for the association. Niku graduated from George Mason University in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Global Affairs, followed in 2018 by a master’s degree in Global Affairs. She has worked in a variety of fields spanning Adult Education, Immigration, Social Services, and Public Health. She is a Qualified Medical Interpreter (Spanish) serving Low English Proficient patients throughout the INOVA Healthcare System in Northern Virginia. After her mother and grandmother, Niku is the third of three generations of women in her family to proudly be inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
